Laser Therapy for Pain and Healing

Laser therapy in a physio clinic is not a surgical beam and not a spa gadget. We use low-level (cold) laser as one tool beside hands-on care and exercise, usually for tissue that is irritated and slow to settle.

How it is used here

A small probe delivers specific wavelengths of light to the area. You may feel gentle warmth; most people feel very little. Sessions are short. We often pair laser with manual therapy in the same appointment so you are not making a separate trip for a modality.

Common reasons we consider it:

  • Arthritic joints that flare after activity
  • Tendon pain (shoulder, elbow, Achilles)
  • Sprains that have plateaued
  • Wound or post-surgical sites when your clinician says it is appropriate

What it is not

Laser is not a cure-all and it is not a replacement for loading a tendon or changing how you move. If someone has promised that light alone will fix a disc or a frozen shoulder, that is not how we practice. We will tell you when exercise or shockwave is the better spend of the visit.

Safety and booking

You will wear protective eyewear when needed. Laser is not used over certain areas or in some medical situations — we screen for that on the first visit. Ask at reception if you are curious whether it fits your problem. Weekdays until 6:30pm, Saturdays until 4:00pm.
